Position SummaryThe Lead Hand Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse while providing guidance and direction to warehouse associates. This role combines hands-on forklift operation with leadership responsibilities to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of products throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of forklift operators and warehouse associates during daily operations.
- Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to ensure production and shipping targets are achieved.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, , Counterbalance, with clamp
- Load and unload trailers while ensuring product accuracy and damage prevention.
- Perform inventory movements, replenishments, put-aways, and order picking activities.
- Monitor employee productivity and provide on-the-floor coaching and training.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
- Complete shipping, receiving, and warehouse documentation accurately.
- Communicate operational issues, staffing concerns, and productivity updates to supervisors.
- Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and operational challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, or Supervisor is preferred.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Experience operating Counterbalance forklifts.
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to train and motivate employees.
- Experience using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
