Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide full-scope primary care services, including health promotion, illness prevention, direct treatment, rehabilitation, and holistic patient care and will also be a direct support for physicians.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and coordinated care;
- Perform a broad range of nursing duties within the scope of practice, including medication administration, injections, venipuncture, wound care, and other clinical and administrative tasks;
- Deliver patient education, health promotion, and wellness programming to support individuals in achieving and maintaining optimal health;
- Support physicians with referrals, investigations, follow-ups and other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

- A member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO);
- Experience as primary care nurse with knowledge of diabetes, prenatal, well baby/child visits and immunization schedule would be an asset;
- Experience in TB tests, allergy shots, ear syringing and cryotherapy treatments would be an asset;
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Avaros) would be an asset;
- Clear criminal background check (with vulnerable sector screening);
- Negative TB test;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including but not limited to the Substitute Decisions Act, the Health Care Consent Act and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) ;
- Strong computer skills;




- Ability to work well independently;
- Experience working in a community setting is an asset;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity, whether related to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity;
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required;
- Valid driver’s license with $2 million vehicle liability insurance.
