Good morning everyone, Question we have 80k+ indigenous people living in Winnipeg. Maybe more just a ball park figure should we not hire Indigenous people to work with indigenous? How many non Indigenous people hire an indigenous business to give them an opportunity? How can an indigenous thrive to hire more if we are not given an opportunity to work. Contemplating on closing business down for positive. Been in business for 8 years struggled too long & too hard scraping 2 nickles together to make ends meat. Living in Winnipeg as 1 of the few Heating & air conditioning businesses commercial & residential outfits seems like an opportunity. Every door knocked at never answered. Every reserve spoke to ended in nothing. Every opportunity we were given we completed the tasks were given with thumbs up & appreciation from customers. In the last 2 years it has gotten more n more quiet. Occasional service call here occasional install here. Not enough to really venture out further than the base area. How many companies have exploded in the Heating & air conditioning field made the residential arena a slaughter.



LITERALLY with the cheap pricing. 8 years in business & 30 years doing it overall with father, bother helping occasionally with the experience they have. Surprising can't even offer them more than once a year to help with bigger projects. Working for 25 bucks an hour isn't worth it anymore applied at a few places they offered mainly 20 an hour not something that entices When installing a commercial project within 5 days of 18k worth of materials isn't an easy task however project needs to be completed & verified by city & province of Manitoba. Maybe I am missing something or maybe I ain't offering the specifics. V.G.
