Chemco Electrical Contractors Ltd. is seeking practical, field-focused Health & Safety Advisors for projects in the Edmonton & Fort Saskatchewan area. This role supports crews and supervision, promotes a strong safety culture, and helps ensure compliance with OH&S; legislation, Chemco’s Health and Safety Management System, and client safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation is required.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction safety.
- Electrical construction experience is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of OH&S; legislation, safety best practices, and field-level safety processes.
- Knowledge of Alberta OHS & WCB legislation and reporting requirements.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, PDF documents, and basic reporting tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with crews, supervision, clients, and the public.
What You’ll Do
- Promote safety as a core value and support an incident- and injury-free workplace.
- Provide field-level coaching, guidance, and support to employees and supervision.
- Support the implementation and administration of Chemco’s E.H.&S.; Program and client safety requirements.
- Communicate significant safety concerns, trends, and recommendations to site and corporate management.
- Deliver new-hire orientations and assist employees with required onboarding documentation.
- Participate in inspections, observations, secure work planning, and the development of procedures.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements.
- Assist with modified work planning and WCB claim management as required.
- Support emergency response planning and communication of site protocols.
- Use inspections, observations, and safety data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a professional and positive relationship with employees, supervision, clients, and the surrounding community.
Work Conditions
- Possible day and night shift positions.
- 10-hour shifts; shift schedule to be confirmed upon interview.
