We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Mine Engineer / Planner to join our team.At Peter Lucas, we provide project management, engineering, procurement, and construction management services to clients in the mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. We are seeking a versatile mining professional with strong technical capabilities, operational experience, and the ability to mentor and support the development of junior engineers.About The OpportunityThe Senior Mine Engineer / Planner will provide senior-level technical support to an active mining operation on a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation. This position includes camp accommodations, flights, and travel support to and from site.This role is ideal for an experienced mining engineer who enjoys working across multiple disciplines, solving complex technical challenges, and supporting the growth of junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.What You 'll DoProvide senior-level mine engineering support to mining operations and project teamsDevelop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans, schedules, and production strategiesSupport underground mine planning activities including stope layouts, sequencing, development planning, and optimizationReview and optimize mining methods, designs, and operational approachesProvide technical support related to ventilation planning, air requirements, and mine ventilation improvementsCollaborate with geology, operations, maintenance,
and technical services teams to improve mine performancePrepare engineering designs, reports, technical studies, and recommendationsSupport mine design reviews, feasibility studies, and continuous improvement initiativesAnalyze production data and identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiencyProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mining engineers and technical staffSupport the implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and best practicesParticipate in site visits, field inspections, and operational reviews as requiredOther duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor 's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline10+ years of progressive mine engineering experienceStrong underground mining experience with exposure to mine planning, stope design, and production optimizationExperience with ventilation systems and mine infrastructure planning considered an assetStrong understanding of underground mining methods, sequencing, and operational requirementsExperience with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine, or similar platformsStrong technical writing, analytical,
and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teamsProven ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior engineersStrong communication and leadership skillsProfessional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility considered an assetMining operations experience is strongly preferredBenefitsHealth and Dental Advantages.Company Pension Matching.Company Incentives.We appreciate all applicants ' interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
