We foster a culture where respect is foundational, innovation is encouraged, and safety is never compromised.At Cementation, we value experience and are inspired by potential.About this PositionReporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the Lead Project Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and approval of accruals, forecasts and project status as well as early intervention and notification of variances to project baseline schedule and spend while ensuring the integration of project control measures including cost control, scheduling, progressing and change management.The Lead Project Controller leads a team of Project Controllers at site and in office by standardizing and implementing the processes and tools to be used by onsite and office based project controllers and builds on those systems to ensure sustainability in project controls.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHealth & SafetyWork in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations forBe aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.Be a champion for safety, instilling safety into behavior, but equally importantly in the designs produced.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop Project Controls processes and standards, and support implementation across all projects in Canada.Working collaboratively with operations management to prepare, define and compile the controls baselines including the development of project schedules,



budgets and track progress against these baselines.Provide operations management with accurate and up-to-date cost information to facilitate sound project decision making.Assist in the review and analysis of the project schedule and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost andEnsure forecasts are prepared and integrated according to Client and CementationMonitor planning and project/progress achievements of milestones and using the project schedule generate data and curves for each cost profile.Assist area managers and site project controllers in the submission of change management documentation, monitor and track progress.Ensure project coding is communicated to accounting, purchasing, and operationsMonitor timesheet entries to ensure work is distributed to the correct project and sub-Monitor purchase orders to ensure purchases are distributed to the correct project codes and sub-codes and advise management of any discrepancies, changes or out of scopeAnalyze performance data, identify trends, works with operations teams to prepare mitigationPrepare and finalize the close-out reports, including maintaining historical costs and production information with the assistance of the projectProvide support in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baseline.Assist the project team in converting project bids to setting up the complete, accurate project baseline in JDE and Primavera P6.Prepare and issue regular progress and status reports, as per Client requirements,



or as per Cementation standards.Other duties as assignedTravel RequirementsThis position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites andTravel period may range from one day to severalSupervisory ResponsibilitiesLead Project Controls teams.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or equivalent, Bachelor of Commerce, or Certified Engineering Technologist Diploma.Project Management Professional (PMP) or a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) designation, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.Minimum of 10 years of direct project controls experience in a mining or heavy constructionSkills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesExcellent communication and organizationalProven ability to build solid workingEfficient multitaskingAble to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines areAbility to produce read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves/reports.Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control, project control principles and earned value principles.Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Hard Dollar, or other EstimatingProficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and OutlookCandidacyPlease note that to be considered, you must be a Canadian citizen or have written authorization to work in Canada under federal immigration requirements and currently be residing in Canada.Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionAt Cementation Americas, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every employee is treated with dignity and respect.
