The global team invests across the capital structure, including revolving credit facilities, loans, bonds, preferred equity and rescue finance. The team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing and monitoring investments across a diversified portfolio. The Manager will play a key role in the growth and management of PSP's Credit Investments portfolio, with a primary focus on North American and European infrastructure debt opportunities. Based in Montréal, the employee will be focused on infrastructure lending, project finance, asset-backed financing, portfolio construction, and long-term value preservation aligned with PSP's investment objectives.About Your RoleAs a Manager, Credit Investments, you'll:Investment Origination & Prospect AssessmentWork closely with the Credit Investments Senior Team to originate infrastructure debt investment opportunities with core partnersLead the evaluation and screening of infrastructure debt investment opportunities across sectors including transportation, energy, renewables, digital infrastructure, utilities and social infrastructureDevelop investment theses and underwriting strategies aligned with PSP's long-term investment mandate, portfolio objectives and risk-return frameworkContribute to the development and execution of Infrastructure Debt portfolio strategies by sector, geography and financing structureAssess market trends, regulatory developments and industry dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and risks affecting the infrastructure debt marketInvestment Analysis & Transaction ExecutionLead complex credit underwriting and due diligence processes for project finance, corporate infrastructure debt, acquisition financing and structured lending transactionsOversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, credit assessments and downside scenarios,
validating key assumptions and identifying principal investment risksCoordinate multidisciplinary teams across Legal, Tax, Risk Management, ESG, Finance and Operations throughout the investment execution processLead negotiations of financing terms, covenant packages, security arrangements and transaction documentation with borrowers, sponsors and lending syndicatesPrepare and present investment recommendations to senior leadership and Investment Committees, articulating key risks, mitigants and expected portfolio contributionPortfolio Management & Value CreationLead the ongoing monitoring and asset management of infrastructure debt investments, including financial performance, covenant compliance, project milestones and refinancing activitiesIdentify potential credit deterioration risks and develop strategies to protect and enhance investment valueEvaluate secondary market opportunities, amendments, restructurings and follow-on investments to optimize portfolio performanceMaintain effective relationships with borrowers, sponsors, co-lenders and portfolio company management teams to support long-terms investment outcomesEnsure infrastructure debt investments remain aligned with portfolio construction objectives, risk limits and PSP's overall investment strategyLeadership & Investment CommunicationMentor and develop Analysts, Senior Analysts and Associates by providing technical guidance, investment coaching and feedback throughout the investment processDrive collaboration and dialogue with other asset classes within PSP, most notably the PSP Infrastructure Equity teamReview and challenge underwriting analyses, financial models and investment recommendations produced by junior team membersLead investment discussions and contribute to strategic planning activities within the Infrastructure Investments platformInfluence decision-making through clear, concise and compelling communication of investment opportunities and portfolio matters to senior stakeholdersFoster collaboration across investment groups to identify cross-platform investment opportunities and best practicesWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.Approximately seven (7) + years of relevant experience in direct lending, private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking,
private equity or a related investment environmentPrior work experience in Infrastructure/Energy origination or investing is requiredDemonstrated experience leading complex credit underwriting, due diligence and transaction execution processesStrong financial modelling, valuation, accounting and credit analysis skillsProven ability to exercise sound investment judgment and challenge assumptions through robust analysis.Experience managing multiple stakeholders and influencing outcomes in a fast-paced investment environmentStrong negotiation, relationship management and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior investment professionalsProfessional designation: CA or MBA and/or completed final level of CFA designation is an asset.
