Reporting to the Manager of Track Maintenance, this position involves a range of responsibilities, from manual labor in tie replacement to utilizing equipment for track care. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background and a valid BC driver’s license, making them well-suited for this role in railroad maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute tasks like tamping and brush cutting
• Handle track machines and related tools effectively
• Maintain and inspect tracks and switches
• Operate company vehicles as needed
• Communicate maintenance needs over the radio
Requirements:
• Minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Track Inspection Geometry Certificate preferred
• Experience with railway maintenance equipment beneficial
• Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving ability
• Valid BC driver’s license necessary
