Senior Design Coordinator, Electrical & ICAT

Responsibilities

- Assist in pre‑construction activities for projects with complex electrical systems.
- Review and provide input on conceptual electrical design and technology approaches for design‑build pursuits.
- Analyze designs against client requirements.
- Review sub‑trade financial submissions and evaluate bid competitiveness and compliance.
- Prepare sub‑trade scope delineation matrices to ensure no scope gaps or overlaps.
- Establish budget targets for the electrical/ICAT scope during pursuits.
- Coordinate drawings, narratives, and visual presentations for design meetings and submissions.
- Ensure electrical design solutions are well understood and implemented during construction and operations.
- Communicate directly with design, consultant, trade contractors, and other project team members.
- Support estimating team during pursuits and construction team after pursuits for temporary power and lighting requirements.
- Liaise with utilities for new construction and permanent site services.
- Use engineering applications such as Revit, AutoCAD, and ETAP.

Other Responsibilities

- Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors.




- Monitor and track invoicing to ensure correct costing.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- 2+ years of design experience or equivalent technical training.
- Ability to obtain a P.Eng license is an asset.
- Design experience on utility projects is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of building codes, standards, high‑ and low‑voltage systems.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong conceptual skills for developing creative design solutions and identifying construction conflicts.
- Experience coordinating designs across multiple disciplines.
- Technical knowledge of electrical, communications, mechanical, architectural, and power supply/distribution systems is an asset.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and other common applications.

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Compensation

Salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 CAD.
