About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Strategic Projects to lead the engagement with a portfolio of early-stage, high-impact infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping these projects into a form that can support investment, with a focus on those that have significant benefits but complex execution paths. This role requires a skilled generalist with the ability to integrate across various disciplines, including design, engineering, commercial contracts, financial structuring, public policy, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years' experience in infrastructure, particularly in linear projects, and a proven track record of bringing projects from concept to construction. High resilience and the ability to manage through high-ambiguity situations are essential,
as is the capacity to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Key responsibilities for the Managing Director include overseeing the development lifecycle of projects, providing senior accountability for performance, and partnering with transaction teams to ensure projects are investment-ready. The role also involves structuring the company's participation in early-stage project development, actively engaging with project partners, and representing the company externally. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to deliver nationally significant infrastructure outcomes, have robust executive communication and relationship management skills, and be able to influence and align diverse stakeholders. Bilingualism in French and English is a significant asset, and experience in environments with public-interest mandates and high accountability is also beneficial.
