Join us to help shape the future of one of the world's leading live service franchises.As a Senior Software Engineer, Engine Systems, you will report to Principal Technical Director and build the foundational technology that powers Apex Legends. You will design and maintain core engine systems across physics, memory, input, and platform layers. You will partner with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable systems that improve performance, stability, and player experience in a live service environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain core engine systems across multiple domainsOwn cross-cutting technical initiatives from design to releaseOptimize memory, CPU, and bandwidth across gameplay systemsDebug and resolve complex issues in large-scale codebasesIntegrate platform and partner technologies into the engineCollaborate with design, art, and audio on feature developmentMentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidanceQualifications8+ years developing game engine or systems-level codeStrong C/C++ experience in performance-critical systemsExperience working in large, shared codebasesShipped at least one AAA game on console or PCExperience optimizing memory, CPU, or runtime performanceExperience developing on Sony, Microsoft,



or Nintendo platformsStrong understanding of 3D math or simulation systemsPay Transparency – North AmericaPay ranges reflect what EA expects to pay applicants in these regions at the time of posting. Compensation also includes benefits detailed below.British Columbia (e.G., Vancouver vs Victoria): $169,500 – $242,600 CADCalifornia (e.G., Los Angeles vs San Francisco): $193,100 – $296,500 USDBenefitsIn the United States, benefits include paid time off (3 weeks to start), 80 hours of sick time, 16 paid company holidays, 10 weeks additional paid time off for new parents, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k). Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.In Canada, benefits include vacation (3 weeks to start), 10 days of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP up to 100% of base salary for recent children (12 weeks maternity, 4 weeks parental/adoption), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan.
