Worship Pastor/Coordinator – Steele Heights Baptist Church

Steele Heights Baptist Church is an intercultural and intergenerational church committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the Northeast Edmonton community through discipleship, service, and fellowship. We are a growing congregation of people who love Jesus and are known for our community outreach, with approximately 440 people participating weekly across two in-person and online services and a campus church plant.

The Worship Pastor/Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for SHBC’s worship ministry, including Sunday service planning, worship development, and volunteer equipping to support the church’s vision of helping move people to extraordinary life with Christ.

Requirements and Qualifications

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate all ministry operations related to Sunday worship services, including preparing the order of service, and seasonal/special services.
- Schedule and support greeters, ushers, and other Sunday service volunteers.
- Coordinate communion ministry, including volunteer scheduling, reminders, substitute arrangements, and inventory of communion supplies.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Pastor in the planning and development of sermon series and worship services.
- Coordinate the editing, production, and live streaming of worship services and other media content.
- Provide direction and support to welcome, worship, and technical teams to ensure services are well-organized and executed.
- Recruit, equip,



and lead volunteers serving in worship and production ministries.
- Work collaboratively with the Campus Worship Coordinator to foster alignment, communication, and shared ministry initiatives across campuses.
- Participate as a member of the pastoral team by contributing to general pastoral duties, including pastoral care, church-wide events, leadership meetings, and other ministry responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

- Born-again follower of Jesus Christ with a commitment to the church’s Statement of Faith (see ).
- Strong leadership skills with experience serving in a worship ministry setting.
- Experience leading worship in a multicultural, multigenerational church (multi-site or multi-service experience preferred).
- Skilled musician and worship leader with experience developing worship teams.
- Familiarity with media, digital technology, and online worship platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a pastoral team with a positive and servant-hearted attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in pastoral ministry, worship, or related field, with three years of church leadership experience (internship experience considered).
- Successful completion of Police Security Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.

Compensation: A market-competitive salary and benefits package will be provided based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
