We are seeking a rigorous and organized Accounting Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring daily financial operations, producing reports, and supporting management in accounting tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Enter and process accounting transactions (purchases, payments, deposits, journal entries).
- Prepare and reconcile bank accounts.
- Monitor and account for fixed assets.
- Prepare tax filings (GST/QST).
- Supervise accounts payable clerks and ensure quality of their work.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare required documentation and collaborate with external auditors.
- Support the controller or management with other accounting-related tasks as needed.
- Perform any other related tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC) in accounting or equivalent training.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Good knowledge of QuickBooks (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Rigorous, autonomous, and well-organized.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong team spirit and professional discretion.
