Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Procurement Specialist to join their operations team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials, services, and equipment required to support production and business operations.

The successful candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to build effective vendor relationships while balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

- Source and purchase raw materials, components, maintenance supplies, and operational services.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support continuous operations and assist with inventory reporting and analysis.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements to achieve optimal value.
- Coordinate deliveries and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time fulfillment.
- Verify receipt of goods and services and resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, or quality concerns.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support purchasing requirements and project needs.
- Assist with procurement activities including RFQs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations.




- Obtain quotations and pricing information for equipment, services, and capital purchases.
- Manage the full purchase order cycle, including creation, issuance, tracking, and closure.
- Coordinate external maintenance and service providers as required.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers and business partners.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, health and safety requirements, and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationship management within a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, or related documentation is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
