Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) is seeking an experienced senior leader to establish and lead a new province-wide portfolio focused on community and social services integration, social work, and system partnerships. As the Senior Operating Officer (SOO), Community, Social Services Integration and Partnerships, you will strengthen connections across healthcare, community, and social service sectors to support coordinated access, timely care transitions, and improved system outcomes. Reporting to the Executive Lead, Client Navigation and Integration, you will serve as a strategic leader, driving collaboration, enhancing community capacity, and advancing solutions that improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. In this executive leadership role, you cultivate strong relationships across healthcare, community, government, and social service organizations to improve access, care transitions, and coordinated service delivery. The SOO will manage and coach an overall team of approximately 850 positions across social work, partnerships, and integration functions. As the leader of this new and evolving portfolio, you will have a unique prospect to influence system transformation by building sustainable partnerships, advancing coordinated access and outreach strategies, and embedding social determinants of health into planning and service delivery. The Senior Operating Officer, Community, Social Services Integration and Partnerships provides strategic and operational leadership for the integration of health, community, and social services across Alberta. Reporting to the Executive Lead, Client Navigation and Integration,
the role connects access and transition pathways with community-based supports and broader system planning to reduce avoidable system pressures and improve continuity of care. The SOO provides strategic and operational leadership to a large, province-wide portfolio including all Social Workers aligned under the Client Navigation and Integration portfolio, organized by program setting and supported through centralized education and practice leadership. The SOO will manage and coach an overall team of approximately 850 positions across social work, partnerships, and integration functions. The role also oversees partnership and integration functions, including a Director-level portfolio focused on strengthening cross-sector collaboration. Furthermore, the successful candidate is accountable for building and maturing system partnerships with community and social service organizations, enhancing coordinated access, outreach, and engagement strategies. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that social determinants of health are effectively integrated into care planning and delivery, enabling timelier, person-centred transitions and improved outcomes for individuals and the broader health system.
