Janitor/Maintenance Workers ensure the cleanliness of the overall site, both inside and outside. The worker will also ensure that building functions such as mechanical, plumbing, and electrical are properly maintained. Ongoing maintenance and janitorial work is required on premises.This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use,



employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.Job DutiesJanitorial work such as sweeping, washing, and waxing floors; cleaning and disinfecting all surfacesGarbage removal and emptying recycling containersMonitor and upkeep all building equipmentMaintain repairs on premises including the upkeep of suites by fixing, repairing, plumbing, landscaping, etc.Will assist recent staff and oversee volunteers; and work with staff to ensure facilities meet the needs of guestsWork is generally completed internally, while some external work on the premise may occurJob duties may have a few disagreeable factorsEmployees are expected to remain alert and attentive during working hours.
