Yoga, Barre Fitness & Mat Pilates Instructors (sub positions)

Are you passionate about movement, wellness, and building community through fitness? Rideau Sports Centre (RSC) is looking for certified and enthusiastic instructors to join our growing wellness team.

Located on the banks of the Rideau River in the heart of Ottawa, Rideau Sports Centre is a public recreation hub that brings people together through sport, wellness, and leisure. Our mission is to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment where people of all ages and abilities can play, move, connect, and thrive.

We are currently seeking instructors to teach:

- Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and other styles)
- Mat Pilates (Classical and Contemporary)

What You'll Do

- Lead engaging, safe, and inclusive group fitness classes.
- Design class plans suitable for participants of varying experience and fitness levels.
- Demonstrate proper technique, alignment, and movement patterns.
- Offer modifications and progressions to support all participants.
- Conduct warm-ups and cool-downs.
- Prepare and maintain the studio space before and after classes.
- Foster a positive and supportive class environment that reflects the values of Rideau Sports Centre.
- Monitor participant safety and provide clear, encouraging instruction throughout each session.

Qualifications





- Certification from a recognized organization is required.
- Certification in Yoga, Barre Fitness, Mat Pilates, or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching group classes in a studio, fitness, or community setting.
- Strong teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of exercise safety, basic anatomy, and injury prevention.
- Ability to adapt classes and provide modifications for participants with varying needs and abilities.

Availability

- Daytime, evening, and weekend teaching opportunities may be available.
- Substitute teaching opportunities are available, with the potential to move into regularly scheduled classes as our wellness programming continues to grow.
