Become an integral part of the Beaufort Delta Divisional Council as an Elementary Teacher who emphasizes Indigenous knowledge and community values. Foster an inclusive learning setting that embraces diversity and holistic education.
Your role will involve designing educational programs in collaboration with Elders and community members that reflect local Indigenous cultures. You will actively implement strategies to promote a sense of belonging for all students while integrating land-based learning into the curriculum. This position is vital for developing a responsive and engaging educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with community for a competency-based curriculum
• Ensure curriculum reflects diverse Indigenous perspectives




• Activate inclusion strategies to support all students
• Liaise with community to enhance educational offerings
• Create land-based learning experiences for students
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Eligible for a teaching certificate in Northwest Territories
• Strong grasp of Indigenous cultures and traditions
• Background in inquiry-based teaching
• Commitment to inclusive and equitable practices
