Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution or General Education Development (GED) is preferred;


• Fireman’s Certificate, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS or willingness to obtain;






• Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning processes, products and equipment;


• Demonstrated knowledge of basic building maintenance procedures, tools and equipment;


• Strong communication skills;


• Ability to work as part of a team;


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;


• Ability to deal with a broad range of students, staff and members of the general public;


• Ability to work in varied climates and conditions which may include: confined spaces, dust, vapours, fumes or slippery surfaces;


• Good physical condition;


• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally;


• Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force frequently;


• Ability to exert up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.

Duties (may Include But Are Not Limited To)

• Daily cleaning and disinfecting when students are in attendance


• Special cleaning during school breaks


• Minor repairs and maintenance


• Operating mechanical equipment such as snow blower, lawn mower, power scrubber etc.


• Yard work, including snow removal and lawn mowing
