Our client, a multidisciplinary employee owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Group Lead out of their Ottawa office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid role, paying $115-165k, including competitive vacation, benefits, health spending account, RRSP matching, profit sharing, shareholder opportunities and reimbursement of professional dues.This position will develop and lead a group of Project Managers and technical support staff, and is responsible for the planning, design, construction inspection and administration of municipal infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will also serve as Project Manager and provide support for multiple projects. This individual will be a progressive, collaborative and energetic professional engineer with at least 10 years of consulting experience.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicate regularly with the Senior Manager to provide updates on actions and strategies to achieve group goals and targetsDevelop and execute quarterly business plans, set goals and targets for the group as established with the Senior Manager to expand both services provided and market areasCommunicate regularly with other Group Leaders to discuss items of mutual interest - sharing resources, technical support, business development activities,



etc.Assist and monitor Project Managers to establish and track budgets and project schedules and maintain staff utilisation and profitability targets discussed with the Senior ManagerDevelop, manage, lead, train, discipline, mentor and motivate all members of the groupManage and complete project as a Senior Engineer, including budget, schedule and resource management, billings, and client liaisonLead business development and raise the profile of the department and the companyIdentify project opportunities in existing and current project areas, prepare work plans and proposals to acquire workKey Position RequirementsP.Eng. in the province of Ontario, registered with PEOMinimum of 10 years of engineering experience, preferably in the consulting environmentTechnical leader in relevant sectorDemonstrated abilities as a team leader, responsible for managing a team of support staffUndertake business development with a desire to do moreUnderstanding of business metrics and company policies and can work with staff to achieve desired outcomesDemonstrated high level of commitmentStrong, relevant design and project management experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent technical and analytical skillsStrong knowledge of appropriate design and analysis softwareFull knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteUnderstanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standardsValid Driver's License and reliable transportation #J-18808-Ljbffr
