*Job Summary**$60,000-$120000- Year*Hub City Volkswagen, 1822 Queensway, Prince George, BC, V2L 1L8, is currently in need of journeyman mechanics for our busy, customer driven automotive repair shop. The successful applicant will be energetic, will possess above average interpersonal skills and will demonstrate an above average attention to detail.*Responsibilities and Duties*Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all timesComply with applicable legislation, company rules and policiesProtect the health and safety of others by adopting protected work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediatelyComplete paperwork associated with the tasks performed.Perform all mechanical repairs, diagnostics & maintenanceBe in good health and able to lift heavy items up to 75lbs*Qualifications and Skills*Qualified mechanic from any Jurisdiction.Knowledge of Volkswagen or other german brands considered an asset.Ability to adapt to new technologyAbility to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positionsAbility to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingHigh level of integrity and work ethicTime Management skills*Work Conditions*Use of required personal protective equipmentRepetitive workRegular exposure to conditions including heat, humidity, and dustOperation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipmentExtended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditionsExposure to hazards associated with the industry/tradeOccasional overtimeReview work orders and discuss work with supervisorInspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faultsAdjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipmentTest and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specificationsPerform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune upsAdvise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.*Benefits*Company Group Benefit Plan after probation is over.Group Pension Plan after two years of employment.Job Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timePay: $32.00-$42.
