The ideal candidate will be responsible for product safety requirements and analysis.Location: Brampton, ONJob Type: Full-TimeWork Arrangement: HybridResponsibilitiesPerforming safety/hazard assessments and analyses on projects involving complex electromechanical systems with a significant software component.Performing software criticality analysisDeveloping product software safety requirements to meet customer and mission requirementsPerforming trade-off studies to ensure the requirements are the right requirementsWorking with design, systems engineering and software groups to ensure that safety-related inputs are incorporated into the design.Analyzing safety-critical software documentation and source code for safetyAnalyzing reused software for safetyDefend safety decisions to internal and external customersEnsure safety requirements are met in design phaseContribute to System Safety Analysis ReportsPresent safety designs at safety review panelsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer ScienceStrong software safety experience in a safety-critical development environmentAbility to communicate with and work alongside multiple engineering disciplines to develop safety requirementsA solid aptitude for continuous improvement.Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 CAD (annual salary)The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications.
