We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Technical Project Manager to lead strategic engineering and operational initiatives across our manufacturing facilities in Toronto, Ontario and Markleville, Indiana.
Our facilities specialize in the production of cutting-edge reflective insulation products, serving customers across North America. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful improvements in manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization while working with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering background with proven project management experience and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
Project Management Leadership
- Lead and manage technical projects and strategic initiatives across both manufacturing facilities.
- Develop project charters, timelines, budgets, resource plans, and implementation roadmaps.
- Monitor project progress, risks, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, and Finance.
- Provide regular project updates, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership.
CAPEX & OPEX Management
- Lead the planning, justification, execution, and monitoring of capital investment projects.
- Develop business cases and ROI analyses for equipment purchases, automation initiatives, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
- Manage project budgets, contractors, vendors, timelines, and implementation activities.
- Identify and execute operational improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, productivity enhancement, and efficiency gains.
- Track and report project savings, financial performance, and return on investment.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Development & Process Standardization
- Lead the creation, validation, and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) across all manufactured products.
- Partner with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure BOM accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze material consumption, manufacturing processes, and product structures to establish standardized BOMs.
- Maintain BOM integrity within ERP/MRP systems and support product costing accuracy.
- Drive standardization initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, reporting capabilities, and manufacturing efficiency.
Manufacturing Process Improvement & Technical Leadership
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, capacity utilization, quality performance, and equipment effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support new product introductions, equipment installations, process validations, and production trials.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to plant teams across both locations.
Data Analytics & Performance Management
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including project execution, cost savings, OEE, quality, and operational performance.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to leadership teams.
- Support change management initiatives and successful adoption of new systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience managing engineering, manufacturing, technical, or process improvement projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience independently leading complex projects from concept through implementation.
- Demonstrated success managing both CAPEX and OPEX initiatives.
- Experience developing, validating, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Strong planning, organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Experience within the plastics, insulation, packaging, converting, or related manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to automation projects, process engineering, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: CAD $100,000 - $120,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Performance Bonus: Target bonus of 7.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15% based on company performance.
