Join Durham Community Health Centre as a Youth Mental Health Therapist dedicated to providing counselling and support for young individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. This part-time position focuses on delivering comprehensive care in both virtual and in-person settings.
In this permanent part-time role, you'll work within the Youth Wellness Hub team, providing evidence-based therapy to youth aged 12-25. Your expertise in trauma-informed, culturally responsive treatments will enable you to support young clients in managing their mental health and substance use issues. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals while contributing to program development and quality enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments for treatment planning
• Provide client-centered, evidence-informed counselling
• Deliver therapeutic interventions using CBT and DBT
• Collaborate in care coordination with external agencies
• Develop youth substance use programming and initiatives
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent
• Minimum two years of counselling experience with youth
• Knowledge of evidence-informed interventions
• Robust communication and relationship-building skills
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
