We are seeking a hands-on Field Technician to install vibration monitoring sensors on train wheel bearings and associated gateway devices. This role involves working on rail vehicles, performing basic mechanical installation, and running wiring to power monitoring equipment.
This is a practical role suited to someone with valuable manual skills and attention to detail. Advanced qualifications are not required, but a solid work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
Pay Rate: $24/hr DOE
Duration: 3+ months
Shift: Morning Shift: 6:30am to 3pm (Overtime Available)
Responsibilities
Install vibration sensors onto train wheel bearing housings using adhesive bonding techniques
Mount and secure gateway devices on rail vehicles in designated locations
Run and secure wiring from gateway units to available power sources
Ensure all installations are completed safely and in line with provided instructions and standards
Perform basic checks to confirm equipment is correctly installed and operational
Maintain accurate records of installations (photos, checklists, reports as required)
Work closely with supervisors and site personnel during installation activities
Requirements
Basic mechanical or technical aptitude (e.g., using hand tools, installing equipment)
Experience in a technician, installer, or similar hands-on role preferred
Experience in rail, automotive, or heavy equipment environments
Basic electrical wiring experience
