We are currently seeking a hardworking and reliable Lead Hand / Labourer / Junior Operator to join our growing civil construction team. This is a groundsperson position with opportunity to advance into operator roles over time.
The ideal candidate must have a safety mindset and will have experience working on civil construction & land development sites and be comfortable assisting with grading, site preparation, land clearing, operator assist, underground utility work, and general labour duties. Experience operating heavy equipment is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
Must be punctual, strong communication skills, reliable
Assist with grading and site preparation
Actively participate in safety meetings, create FLHAs
Spotting trucks, genreal labor duties, housekeeping
Perform general construction labour duties
Work alongside operators, foremen, and site crews
Install and maintain grade stakes and elevations
Shovelling, raking, and cleanup as required
Assist with underground utility and roadwork projects
Operate small equipment and tools safely
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Class 5 driver's license required
Previous civil construction experience preferred
Experience operating heavy equipment is a robust asset
Valid First Aid certification is considered an asset
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Ability to work well within a team setting
