Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment. As a Sushi Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and food safety. Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
Handle raw fish and other ingredients with proper food safety and sanitation practices
Assist in the preparation of other Japanese cuisine items as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health regulations and safety guidelines
Serve customers with professionalism and a friendly attitude, providing excellent food service
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
Follow all safety procedures related to food handling,
storage, and equipment use
Requirements
Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food service, preferably within a restaurant or kitchen environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Experience in meal preparation and working with Japanese cuisine or sushi is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Robust understanding of kitchen operations and food industry best practices
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Prior restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
