Detailed job duties
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
Grade and label wood products according to quality standards
Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length and width
Examine lumber visually for knots, holes, splits and other defects
Measure wood products to ensure conformance to specifications
Mark defects to be repaired
Sort lumber for further drying, trimming or remanufacturing
Maintain and complete inspection and grading reports
Skills and experience
Reliable
Minimum of two years experience grading various lumbers
Quality oriented, Client Focused
Strong attention to detail
Robust basic math skills
Solid work ethics
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under tight time constraints
Excellent oral communication

Must have own vehicle (no public transportation close to the mill)
