This role is hybrid in Toronto, ON, Canada.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and validate firmware and embedded software for multi-processor systems. This role requires strong C programming, real-time systems experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in a cooperative environment.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test system-level firmware
Build and maintain embedded applications on system-on-chip platforms
Optimize system performance, memory usage, and video data paths
Integrate image-processing and computer-vision capabilities
Support system bring-up, debugging, and customer-reported issues
Develop tools for engineering teams and customers
Create validation plans and provide technical guidance

Required Qualifications
Four or more years of embedded software development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,



Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Solid C programming and debugging skills
Experience with real-time operating systems
Knowledge of multithreading, memory management, optimization, and interrupt handling
Working knowledge of Python
Robust problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work onsite in Toronto four days per week

Canadian work experience is not required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Board Support Packages
Knowledge of I2C, UART, SPI, and Ethernet
Experience with multi-core or multi-processor systems
Automotive or safety-critical software development experience
Knowledge of AUTOSAR
Experience with camera, imaging, or video-processing systems
Familiarity with encryption, authentication, and secure key storage
