- Set up and operate manual lathes to produce custom parts according to blueprints or technical drawings.
- Select and install proper tools and materials for each job.
- Measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, verniers and other precision instruments.
- Perform regular maintenance on machines and keep the work area clean and safe.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and work orders to determine machining operations.
- Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Deburr, clean, and finish parts as required.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.

- Proven experience operating manual lathes (2+ years preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers,
micrometers).
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math and mechanical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

- Experience with other manual machines such as mills, grinders, or drill presses.
- Familiarity with different metals and materials.
