TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting a MECHANICAL ENGINEER (MAINTENANCE) for a contract opportunity in the Greater Medicine Hat Area in an Operating Plant environment.
Job Description
Provide engineering support for maintenance execution and turnaround planning activities across facility operations
Assist inspection teams with evaluation of damage mechanisms, interpretation of inspection data, and development of repair recommendations
Conduct Fit-for-Service (FFS) assessments for stationary equipment and review third‑party engineering evaluations for technical compliance and accuracy
Partner with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and support the resolution of mechanical reliability concerns
Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations in accordance with established reliability and failure analysis procedures
Develop and optimize site‑wide maintenance strategies aimed at improving equipment reliability and standardizing maintenance practices
Review and provide technical oversight for structural assessments and engineering studies completed by external consultants
Job Requirements
8+ years of relevant mechanical experience with oil & gas or petrochemical facilities
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Qualified Engineer registered with APEGA or previous registration with a Canadian Professional Engineering Association
Experience with Alberta regulatory requirements for pressure equipment (ABSA)
Technical experience and training with pressure vessel and piping codes
Outstanding organizational, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
Communication and leadership abilities
