Special Risk Insurance Managers is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our growing team, based out of our Langley or Vancouver, BC office. This is a key role with room for further growth within our company. Hybrid & Remote work options are available.

Responsibilities Review and apply pricing, terms and conditions to new and renewal business.
Maintain and grow the existing book of business.
Establish and strengthen relationships with retail producing brokers by encouraging additional submission inflow.
Provide feedback and market intelligence to the Team Lead.
Develop broker relationships by attending broker meetings, conventions and functions.
Participate in discussions with markets and add commentary on specific programs.
Discuss new product development opportunities.
What you bring to the team Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills to complete assignments efficiently within structured timelines.
Attention to detail to handle new business quotations with a high degree of accuracy.

Solid negotiation skills.
Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Level 1 - General Insurance license (or the ability to obtain within a certain time frame).
CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP or working towards a designation is preferred.
5+ years Commercial Underwriting experience. Additional consideration given to candidates with prior MGA experience.

Remuneration and Location Remote work option: Work Remotely Yes.
Pay Range: 65,000 – 95,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and work location. Package may include base pay, commissions, and/or bonuses.
