Job summary As a senior embedded systems developer at Thales Digital Solutions, you will join a dynamic and growing team of engineers and scientists with diverse skills. Our team specializes in cyber analysis of embedded systems and the development of countermeasures. Our mandate is to ensure that Thales' mission‑critical solutions and those of our clients are resilient to potential cyber attacks. We protect critical operational technologies and industrial IoT such as vehicles, aircraft, ships and satellites, making a tangible impact on the security of these critical systems. As an embedded systems developer at Thales Digital Solutions you will be responsible for developing, testing and delivering software deployable on embedded systems or enabling communication with embedded systems in collaboration with clients; working closely with multidisciplinary teams; and contributing to the resilience of critical solutions against cyber threats.
Key responsibilities Perform software or hardware reverse engineering on embedded systems to understand their operation and identify potential vulnerabilities
Conduct penetration testing on embedded systems
Design and assemble test benches for cybersecurity testing




Perform tests to confirm vulnerabilities (observational or destructive)
Develop tools to communicate with or analyze the behavior of embedded systems
Design, program and test software that can be deployed on embedded systems
Contribute to Agile team activities (Sprint Planning, Daily Meeting, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective)
Document and effectively communicate test results
Carry out tasks following the team's best practices
Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science, electronics or a related field
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and programming languages (C/C++, C#, etc.)
Experience with embedded development tools (Keil, STM32CubeIDE, etc.)
Understanding of microcontroller internals and peripherals (IO, DMA, Timers, PLL, ADC, DAC, etc.)
Understanding of low‑level protocols (I2C, SPI, Serial, CAN, etc.)
Experience in circuit design and fabrication is an asset
Good command of French (written and spoken); English is an asset
This role requires positive English skills for writing technical documents and interacting with or supporting international clients, employees, partners and foreign government authorities who may not speak French.
Desired qualifications Interest in cybersecurity
Experience in hardware security for embedded system components
Experience analyzing side‑channel leakage or fault injection on embedded systems to evaluate and validate component‑level hardware security
Experience with physical probing or component‑level measurement techniques




Familiarity with disassembly tools such as IDA/Ghidra is an asset
Strong code quality mindset and good programming and architecture practices
Experience with Agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban) is an asset
Interest in embedded systems, intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
Teamwork skills and a collaborative mindset
