Your role and responsibilities

Develop high performing technical talent with a particular focus on delivering value.

Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI solutions, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

Design and establish architectural frameworks for AI and cloud-based solutions.

Review and approve technical designs and implementations, identifying and mitigating risk.

Ensure high standards of code quality through regular code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to coding standards.

Identify and implement improvements in development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase team efficiency and product quality.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks for implementation.

Required education
Bachelor’s Degree

Required technical and professional expertise





Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

7+ years of software development, with at least 2 years in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, particularly generative AI models

2+ years of leading a team of engineers

Expertise in languages such as Python and Java or JavaScript relevant to AI development.

Strong experience with AI/ML frameworks and APIs like PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI API and their use in developing generative AI applications

Experience in deploying and fine-tuning models like Granite, Mistral, and Llama 3

Experience with LLM prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases relevant to AI applications

Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, data encryption, and compliance standards

Passionate about how AI can change software development and motivated to turn this into a reality

Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills,



with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of development and documentation

Preferred technical and qualified experience

Hands on experience with the Watsonx product portfolio

Proficiency with IBM Cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and AI-specific offerings

Track record of implementing large-scale AI solutions

Experience with performance optimization and scalability design

Background in designing event-driven architectures

Proficient in agile software development practices, with experience leading agile teams

Eligibility and Regulatory Information

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.
