Job Title: Lead Hand / Driver - Hinton/Rimbey
Position Summary
The Lead Hand / Driver is responsible for supporting daily operations by leading a small team while safely operating company vehicles, including a League NSC truck. This role requires solid leadership, hands-on work ethic, and proven experience in commercial driving and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and drive a League NSC truck in compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards

Lead by example on-site, providing direction and support to crew members

Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs and documentation

Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of materials

Monitor job progress and communicate updates to supervisors

Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and operational efficiency

Assist with training and mentoring new or junior staff

Troubleshoot minor issues in the field and elevate concerns when needed

Qualifications & Experience

Valid driver’s licence with ability to operate a League NSC truck (NSC compliance required)

Ground Disturbance Level II certification (required)





Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a driving and/or field operations role

Previous leadership or lead hand experience is an asset

Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations and best practices

Clean driver’s abstract with a strong safety record

Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic vehicle inspections

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team coordination skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

High attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Working Conditions

Physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions

Overtime and flexible hours may be required based on operational needs

Travel to different job sites may be required
