We look for team members who are gritty, accountable, and driven – with a mindset rooted in initiative and purpose, you think like an entrepreneur and build strong, trusting relationships through clear communication and thoughtful dialogue, even in challenging conversations.
Job Description
Step into a pivotal leadership role where you’ll guide mid-to-large commercial projects from initial concept and proposal development right through to final close-out. You’ll lead pre‑construction under CM, drive design‑to‑tender workflows, convert to a stipulated‑sum model, and execute construction with precision, accountability and collaboration.
As a mentor and coach, you’ll empower project managers and coordinators to raise their game, foster strong partnerships with clients and subcontractors, and drive continuous improvements in safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Own full‑lifecycle delivery of mid‑to‑large commercial and institutional projects (roughly $30M+ in scope)
Oversee cradle‑to‑grave project delivery, including design review and constructability input, estimating, budgeting (Class D, Class B, Tender) and cost control, tendering, procurement, and contract administration, construction sequencing, site logistics, and methodology development, close‑out, hand‑off, and client transition
Manage both open CM (CCDC 5A/5B) and converted CM (CCDC 2) delivery models – shift projects from open to fixed‑sum contracts through risk identification and tender recap,
mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities throughout construction
Craft compelling proposals and methodologies that win work and clearly articulate “what’s in it for the client”
Implement estimating input, sub‑trade buy‑outs, contracts, change‑order controls and robust forecasts
Mentor project managers, coordinators, superintendents and support staff – develop tomorrow’s leaders today
Foster client, consultant and subcontractor relationships that drive repeat business and strong referrals
Embed continuous improvement: streamline processes, reinforce safety best practices, capture lessons learned
Qualifications
You bring grit, accountability, and an entrepreneurial mindset to every project. You thrive in a hands‑on environment, solving problems on the fly and building trust through transparent, respectful communication – even when the pressure’s on.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience working at a general contract (not developer)
3+ years in a direct Project Manager role working on mid‑to‑large commercial projects
Proven track record managing projects from design through completion
At minimum, a technical diploma in an appropriate construction‑related field (CET), or equivalent construction experience
Demonstrated CM conversion experience (CCDC 5A/5B to CCDC 2)
Strong understanding of Construction Management processes and delivery models
Strong budgeting skills (Class D, B, Tender levels) and tendering process knowledge
Skilled in risk management, opportunity identification, and tender recap preparation
Proficient with MS Project (scheduling), site logistics planning, and methodology development
Strong forecasting and financial reporting abilities
Valid driver’s license and ability to balance office and site work
