Overview
Aecon Civil is a recognized leader in the construction and civil engineering industry, delivering complex infrastructure projects across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. The Project Coordinator reports to the Project Director and supports the successful delivery of project objectives through coordination, scheduling, and communication across project teams.
What You’ll Do Here
Plan and implement the engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and labor requirements.
Develop and maintain the project schedule and budget, controlling spending.
Read and understand the project contract.
Provide status reports of project milestones and adjustments to schedules.
Identify changes to the project schedule and assess contract impact.
Determine project labor requirements and coordinate labor with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables (e.g., design documents, as-built drawings).
Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and relevant specifications.
Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Evaluate and recommend design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
Forecast and track change orders and scope changes.
Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required.
Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
Participate actively in quality assurance, understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
Provide estimating and project management backup as required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Develop and write reports and business correspondence.
What You Bring To The Team
Post‑secondary education in a Construction or Engineering discipline or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Three or more years’ experience in project engineering or a heavy construction setting.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Proficiency in construction industry software as required (e.g., Primavera Scheduling, AutoCAD).
Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, considered an asset.
Mobility required; willing to travel to various project locations.
Pay Range
$70,000 – $85,000. Individual pay is determined based on location, education, experience, skills, and role complexity.
