As part of the Finance team, the Senior Corporate Tax Specialist plays a key role in ensuring corporate tax compliance while providing strategic tax guidance to support business initiatives and risk management.
What You’ll Do
Prepare and file Canadian corporate tax returns and statutory tax reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines
Analyze the tax impact of business activities and transactions and recommend strategies to optimize tax efficiency
Monitor changes in federal, provincial, and local tax legislation and advise leadership on implications
Provide oversight and expertise related to environmental fees and related legislation across Canada
Interpret complex tax regulations and prepare technical analyses and reports
Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and supporting schedules
Manage and support tax audits and inquiries with provincial and federal authorities
Assist with cross-border and U.S. tax reporting requirements as needed
Prepare correspondence and work closely with external auditors, tax authorities,
and advisors
Support tax planning initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and international operations
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of progressive corporate tax experience in a complex or rapid-paced environment
CPA or CA designation required (additional designations considered an asset)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners
Advanced understanding of corporate tax principles, legislation, and compliance requirements
