An exciting opportunity exists to develop as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within a cooperative team on 2 North at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. 2 North is a 30-inpatient bed unit providing care for our geriatric assessment unit. You will be responsible for providing excellent patient and family centered care supporting the needs of our patients. As an LPN on 2 North, you will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physicians, Allied Health professionals and support workers, fostering a unit culture that values and respects individual team members and their expertise. As the successful candidate you will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team; decision making, problem solving,



and critical thinking skills using sound clinical reasoning; patient advocacy and patient education skills; time management and prioritization skills; conflict resolution skills and promotion of a positive teamwork setting while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing protected, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preference will be given to those who have up to date Required Organizational Learning (ROL) and It's Your Move (IYM).
