This position can be based in Calgary or Edmonton and will play a key part in growing and delivering our roadway practice across Western Canada.Our Transportation team engages in projects of varying sizes and scope, working with federal, provincial and municipal clients and other partners. Our team provides integrated professional services throughout the full project lifecycle from initial policy and business case advice, through concept and detailed design, inspection, and construction administration.Areas of practice for our transportation team include roads, bridges, rail and transit, transportation planning and ports. This role will be focused on our roadway practice.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities and will see you involved in:Function as project manager or design manager on projects for public, private, or contractor partners. Projects will vary in size, scope and delivery mode, including traditional design-bid-build, design-build, progressive design-build,



and other alternative delivery modelsProvide technical Support for roadway and highway projects from concept design through detailed design and constructionOversee design development and timely preparation of engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents, managing multiple deliverablesConduct site visits as requiredDevelop and/or implement QA/QC processes for project work, ensuring applicable standards are followedChampion project delivery best practices, quality and safety in your day-to-day workEngage in work sharing initiatives across GHD's global teamProvide thought leadership, subject matter expertise and mentorshipSupport the Civil Infrastructure leadership team in winning through:Client development and engagementParticipating in Go/No-Go decisions for potential opportunitiesActing as an ambassador for the GHD brandPreparing effective proposals seeking targeted project opportunities and strategic growth clientsWhat you bring to the team:Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years' experience working in transportation in Western CanadaProfessional Engineer registered or eligible for registration in Alberta. Registration in British Columbia would be considered an assetExperience using technical standards including TAC Geometric Design Guidelines and TEC's Highway Geometric Design GuideExperience with design reports, drawings, tender preparation, specifications,



cost estimates, construction staging and traffic accommodationStrong technical background with experience managing multidisciplinary projects and teams, including setting project objectives, reviewing deliverables, providing design direction, and managing schedule, budget, and riskAgile self-starter with a proactive, strategic, and creative approach to problem solvingOutstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)Ability to work under conflicting responsibilities, meet required deadlines, and follow processes and proceduresDeliver work to a high standard and quality, following QA/QC standards and practicesConstruction administration experience is considered an assetHybrid Work : Our workplace thrives on a hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility.
