Responsibilities
HR Management & Onboarding

Planning and conducting new employee onboarding and orientation to foster positive attitudes and set recent hires up for the best possible success

Assisting in administering the employee offboarding process

Maintaining current and historical human resource records through established filing and retrieval system

Monitoring and tracking staff vacation, sick, and flex workdays

Representing the organization at personnel‑related hearings and investigations

Facilitating and administering the salary review and bonus process

Updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions

Serving on employee health and safety programs & committees, ensuring workplace health and safety compliance

Monitoring and filing monthly timesheets for applicable staff

Carrying out other necessary HR administrative duties, as required

Performance Development & Management

Assisting in performance development system to track and drive high employee performance, scheduling and facilitating staff performance evaluations; ensuring reviews are completed in a timely manner; inputting goals into the corporate OKR tracker; and making recommendations as required

Facilitating discipline and performance management in accordance with company policy and employment standards regulations

Facilitating workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations, as needed

Supporting managers in identifying and addressing employee performance issues

Employee Relations

Acting as a liaison between staff and management when issues arise,



managing employee relations; conducting conflict management and resolution through mediation; and providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR‑related issues

Conducting employee surveys and analyzing results to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure development opportunities, engagement, motivation, and preservation of Axis team members

Promoting a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and communication

Recruitment

Assisting with the talent management process for recruitment and selection, including posting job listings for open roles internally and externally

Scheduling and facilitating recruitment meetings/discussions with hiring managers and interviews with candidates

Screening candidates to assess relevant knowledge, hard/soft skills, experience, and aptitudes

Facilitating candidate assessments

Maintaining communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, notifying them of status updates

Must Haves

Minimum 3 years’ Human Resource Management experience in a fast‑paced corporate environment

Post‑secondary degree, diploma, or certification in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience (considered an asset)

Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required

Experience in the insurance industry (considered an asset)
