The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves andthe development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking an experienced and innovative Territorial Statistician to lead the Northwest Territories Bureau of Statistics and serve as the territorys senior authority on official statistics.
In this influential role, you will guide the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of statistical information that supports government decision-making, policy development, and program planning across the Northwest Territories. You will also represent territorial interests at national statistical tables and work closely with Statistics Canada and other jurisdictions to advance the territorial statistical agenda.

The salary range for this position is from $81.54 per hour to $116.48 per hour (approximately $159,003 - $227,136) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
