Contribute to Charles Bloom Secondary as a School Based Resource Teacher effective September 8, 2026. This position involves creating and managing individualized education plans for students.
Qualified candidates, particularly those self-identifying as Indigenous, are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a BC Teaching Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Experience in developing IEPs and working in multi-disciplinary teams is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assess student needs and develop tailored strategies
• Collaborate with classroom teachers for support
• Supervise and mentor Certified Education Assistants
• Utilize technology to enhance learning outcomes
Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
• Master’s Degree in Special Education or equivalent
• 5 years of teaching experience, including 2 in special education
• Formal training in Level B assessment
• Knowledge of inclusionary practices and behavior support
