ASpruceland Community School of the Arts is searching for a Grade K-7 Counselor for a limited duration contract. Strong skills in trauma-informed practice and collaborative teaching are essential.
The role is part of School District No. 57 in Prince George, providing a unique chance to work as a 0.2 FTE counselor. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of emotional learning strategies and how to support diverse student needs, alongside integrating Indigenous teachings into the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide K-7 students in their emotional and social development
• Maintain an inclusive and respectful classroom setting
• Work closely with educators and families for holistic support
• Integrate Indigenous culture in teaching practices
• Use varied instructional methods to accommodate all learners
Requirements:
• Hold or be in the process of obtaining a BC Teaching Certificate
• Experience in creating engaging learning environments
• Understanding of the BC Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum
• Proven ability with assessment strategies in education
• Valid driver’s license for necessary travel
