What You Will Do
The HR Specialist is responsible for the acquisition, development and retention of talent while supporting the HR team with employee relations matters.
Effectively manage full‑cycle recruitment.
Source and attract candidates through the latest recruitment tools and strategies; identify prospects through networking and other strategies to find qualified candidates.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the recruiting process runs smoothly.
Manage the successful, professional onboarding of new team members; define and promote activities and events to improve employee engagement and build an outstanding corporate culture.
Stay up-to-date on the latest industry best practices and trends.
Maintain knowledge of HR principles, procedures, practices, relevant legislation, regulation,
Labour / Employment law, and collective agreements.
Contribute to other human‑resources related areas as needed.
Salary range is not inclusive of total compensation. The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
Who You Are
3+ years of full‑cycle recruitment experience within the financial industry; property and casualty insurance experience preferred
Exposure to both a corporate Human Resources function and agency environment preferred
Attained or actively working towards the CHRP designation preferred
Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration
Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport
Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to handle numerous positions simultaneously at various stages throughout the recruitment process
Valuable understanding and working knowledge of HR policies and procedures and employee relations
Proficient in MS Office and HRIS software
Strong understanding of employment legislation
Require G license and access to vehicle to travel to recruitment events as needed
