Position Overview
Working as a member of the inter‑professional team, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation, and education to patients, their families, and the interprofessional team across a variety of program areas including critical care, respirology, medicine, stroke, surgery, and the emergency department. The Physiotherapist provides care to patients of the hospital and its affiliates and will participate in program development and evaluation, regular team meetings, liaison with community‑based providers, advocacy on behalf of clients and families, and inter‑professional patient and family conferences as needed.
Primary assignment for this position will be in medicine, with assignment subject to change based on operational needs. Weekend rotations are required.
Education
M.Sc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
Member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
Additional certification or training in neurological Physiotherapy techniques preferred
Experience
Registration and license to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario in good standing
Recent experience in acute care hospital‑based orthopedics, medicine, stroke/neuro, and geriatric care preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced setting
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Motivated to practice in accordance with the mission and vision of the hospital/health service
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
Excellent work performance and attendance
