Position Summary
TheRoad Maintenance Supervisor is the on-ground owner and coordinator of TNDC’s RoadMaintenance activities for Skeena Gold and Silver along the Coast MountainHydro access road (0 km to 52 km; overlap to 54 km).

Thisposition is a direct boots-on-the-ground role with TNDC reporting to SkeenaGold and Silver Site Maintenance. The role ensures safe, passable travel on theMine Access Road (MAR)/ CMH Access road and supporting areas, manages theroster of equipment and personnel, coordinates with Security, Safety, Avalanche, CMH, and external partners, and leads continuous improvement of operations.

Thesupervisor will balance daily travel-day priorities (Tuesdays, Wednesdays andThursdays) with heavier activity days such as concrete pours, avalancheclosures, and weather events, while maintaining clear communications,documented incident reports, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between TNDC’soperators, Construction management, and financial controls—all whilecoordinating onsite maintenance activities and assisting with administrativeprocesses. You’ll work closely with the construction managers, multiplestakeholders (CMH, BCH, Skeena, TNDC, Etc.), and our project controls teams todeliver high-quality results that align with TNDC’s mission of sustainable andresponsible business practices.

RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

OperationalLeadership and Route Management

Ownand oversee winter maintenance across the MAR corridor (0–52 km; up to 54km overlap) as direct supervisor from TNDC.

Assistin the development, communication, and execution of priority-basedmaintenance plans for critical routes and pull-out points; align withconcrete pour days and travel-day schedules.

Maintainand reference an up-to-date route risk and priority matrix (priorityhills, gravel placement, snow/ice management needs).

Equipmentand Resource Coordination

Directand schedule the following equipment (may change throughout season): One(1) primary grader, One (1) 1 backup grader, One (1) underbellyplow/sander, One (1) support loader, and snowblower support from Skeenaafter snowfall.

Youwill be tasked to track equipment availability, uptime, preventativemaintenance, and any required repairs daily; coordinate with Skeena forsnowblower augmentation when needed.

Overseetraction-aggregate stockpiling, ditch clean-up, windrow management,



andsign/roadway infrastructure readiness (jersey barriers, culvertinlets/outlets, etc.)

Safety,Compliance, and Incident Response

Enforcesafety policies (FLHA/JHA), ensure risk assessments are completed priorto pulls, and coordinate with Skeena Safety for high-risk incidents oravalanche-related closures.

Implementchain-up enforcement with clear signage; manage retrieval and safe egressof stuck vehicles; ensure lines of communication for incident reportingand escalation to on-shift contacts.

Ensureproper radio discipline and protocols; ensure timely Level of EmergencyManagement (LEM) deliveries and coordination with Avalanche techs forroad closures.

Communicationsand Stakeholder Engagement

Serveas the primary TNDC on-site point of contact during winter events;maintain the communications matrix, including regular updates to Safety,Operations, CMH, Security, and Avalanche teams.

Produceand distribute road condition reports, daily concern lists, andafter-action summaries; maintain logs of closures, weather conditions,and incidents.

Coordinatewith site buses and transport routes (camp to site, Terrace to site,Smithers to site) to ensure readiness for inclement weather and accurateroute condition reporting.

Monitoring,Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

Monitorroad conditions, weather forecasts, and activity schedules; providetimely updates to stakeholders.

Trackand report equipment utilization, response times, and route coverage;identify opportunities for process improvements and cost controls.

Maintaina “Fair Weather Hit List” of priority maintenance activities (roadrepairs, ditch cleanup, windrow widening) and execute when feasible.

Collaborationwith External and Internal Teams

Workwith Avalanche, CMH, Security, and Safety on road closures, safety zones,and closures within avalanche corridors; ensure dual management asrequired.

Maintainknowledge of 46 km Camp interactions and ensure that all interactionswith facilities (Quarry at 43 km, Batch Plant at 45 km, 52 km batterylimit) are clear, accessible, and well-maintained.

Administrative& Compliance Duties

Maintainproject documentation with Integrity and accuracy.

Generate,review, and submit LEMs ensuring compliance with client requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educationand Experience

Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred; technical coursework intransportation, civil infrastructure, heavy equipment operation, orrelated field is a plus, but not a requirement.

Proficiencyin MS Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.

5+years in winter maintenance, fleet operations, or related field withdemonstrated leadership experience; experience coordinating withmulti-disciplinary teams is preferred.





Technicaland Operational Skills

Proficiencyoperating winter maintenance equipment (grader, underbelly plow/sander,loader, snowblower coordination) and basic fleet maintenance concepts. Itis understood that Supervisor can support in the event it is required-Storms, Sick days, etc.

Understandingof Winter Mine Road Maintenance and road safety best practices in anextreme environment.

Abilityto interpret weather data, road condition reports, and createpriority-based action plans.

Leadership,Communication, and Collaboration

Provensupervisory or team leadership experience; capable of coaching diversecrews and enforcing safety standards.

Strongwritten and oral communication; ability to manage a communications matrixand maintain thorough documentation.

Customer-focusedand collaborative, with the ability to coordinate across internaldepartments and external partners.

Knowledgeof WCB, MoM Act, and environmental regulations relevant to winteroperations.

Commitmentto safety, incident reporting, risk management, and continuousimprovement.

Mandatory9 Panel Drug and Alcohol test

Certifications(Beneficial)

ValidClass 5 driver’s license; Class 1/3 may be preferred depending on scope.

Certificationsin snow and ice management, First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, andavalanche awareness are advantageous.

PhysicalRequirements and Work Conditions

Abilityto work in winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, reduced visibility);capable of responding to emergencies outside standard hours.

Flexiblescheduling with early morning, night shifts, and on-call responsibilitiesas dictated by weather events.

Weather and event-focused intensity: anticipate longer or split shifts during heavy snowfall, avalanche closures, and concrete pour windows.

Planning cycles: annual winter preparedness planning pre-season; monthly reviews during peak season; post-storm debriefs.

Meetingsand Reporting

Pre-season planning and safety briefings; daily shift briefings during storms; daily road condition reports; weekly operational reviews; after-action reporting post-storm.

Field and roadside operations with office coordination; exposure to cold, snow, and challenging driving conditions; occasional site visits to CMH, Security, and Safety facilities.
