Job Overview
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be selling industrial metals (steel, stainless, aluminum, sheet, pipe and structural products) to small and mid‑sized industrial businesses within an Ontario territory, our Eastern GTA & East territory.
This role focuses primarily on reactivating dormant accounts, increasing wallet share within underperforming accounts, supporting the inside sales team by opening doors and gathering strategic intelligence, and developing new small‑to‑mid‑sized industrial customers.
This is not a traditional closing role. The internal Account Executive team handles quoting and transactional closing. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunity gaps, handling objections, and driving strategic account growth.
This position offers a base salary of $75,000–$95,000 with quarterly bonuses, profit sharing, mileage reimbursement and full benefits.

Office Location & Sales Territory
Head Office – Brampton, Ontario
Monday to Thursday – Visiting customers in assigned territory
Friday – Office‑based planning and internal collaboration
Target Territory (Eastern GTA & East):
Downtown Toronto, Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham.
Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington).
Eastern Ontario expansion points (Port Hope, Peterborough, and East toward Kingston).
Territory will be structured based on where the candidate resides, but must remain reasonably accessible to the Brampton office.
Experience, Background & Education Requirements
3–5+ years of outside industrial sales experience
Steel distribution experience strongly preferred
Industrial sales background required
Post‑secondary education or equivalent professional experience
Technical Skills
Average computer skills
MS Office
Zoom/Teams: Basic
CRM System: Intermediate
The Product / Service / Solution
10–50 core products including steel, aluminum, stainless, sheet, pipe and structural materials.

Typical Day & Duties
Engage with active, inactive, and prospective clients within the territory
Pre‑plan weekly route and account strategy (Friday office planning day)
Visit primarily dormant and underperforming accounts
Identify growth opportunities and gather competitive intelligence
Develop account reactivation strategies with management and inside sales
Submit reports on market trends and customer feedback
Drive commercial sales and identify new business opportunities
Collaborate closely with the inside sales team on quotes and follow‑ups

For candidates without direct steel experience:
3 months in‑office product training
3 months of field shadowing
Structured 30‑60‑90‑day onboarding
Steel‑experienced candidates may be fast‑tracked.
