Morris Piglets ltd. is a pork production operation with two locations in the rural area of Lowe Farm, Manitoba. For the location Morris Piglets North with approx. 2600 sows and additional piglets, they have one (1) job opening for a HogFarm Supervisor (NOC 82030).

Salary: $ 32.39/hour for 80 hours bi-weekly, overtime after 80 hours per two weeks

Position Summary
Reporting to the CEO/General Manager, the right candidate is responsible for day-to-day farm operation that includes but is not limited to the coordination, assignments and supervising of pork production technicians and hog farm workers in the sow barn at Morris Piglets North.
Duties
Coordinate, schedule, assign and supervise the work of pork production technicians and general hog farm workers
Supervise, coordinate and oversee breeding programs
Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal welfare
Supervise,
oversee and order feed inventory
Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies on the farm location
Develop work schedules and establish procedures
Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed
Maintain quality control and production records
May perform breeding activities
May perform pork production technician and general hog farm duties
May operate farm equipment
May operate and repair digital technology and communication tools and equipment, such as barn ventilation systems.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role in hog operations, preferable in sow barns
Familiar and experienced with daily sow barn tasks, including breeding, farrowing, maintaining production records, operating and maintaining hog farm equipment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication in the English language
High school completed, completion of post‑secondary education in pork production is an asset
Strong problem‑solving skills as well as ability to work independently and part of a team
Some weekend and holiday work may be required
