Alberta Health Services (AHS) is now seeking an observant, detail‑oriented Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) for the new, state‑of‑the‑art Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, which opened in 2021. Meet doctors and patients to diagnose, monitor, and manage a range of health conditions in a supportive, continuously evolving workplace culture. The team provides Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiography, Mammography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, and Computed Tomography in a 243‑bed facility that also houses a Regional Cancer Centre and serves approximately 300,000 residents.

The hospital is located in Grande Prairie, the largest city in Northern Alberta. The city offers a modern lifestyle, strong local economy, and plenty of recreation opportunities. The position may qualify for a $25,000 to $60,000 Recruitment Incentive and the Northern Incentive of up to $6,300 annually on top of base pay and benefits.

Description
As an MRT, you will:

Perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for disease and pathology diagnosis.

Interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination, and produce high‑quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review.

Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment.

Carry out procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations,



and fluoroscopy where required.

FTE: 0.50 (Temporary Part Time)

Posting End Date: 01-SEP-2026

Position Available From: 11-SEP-2026 to 25-JAN-2027

Hours per Shift: 7.75, Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Days Off as per rotation.

Minimum Salary: $38.74 per hour; Maximum Salary: $51.02 per hour.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively liaise with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and other hospital departments.

Evidence of effective decision making and collaboration in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Connect Care or other electronic health record systems.

Previous experience in a Regional Hospital setting.
